He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Gracie McGeorge; brothers, Leamon, Norman, Brit and Johnny McGeorge; sisters, Sara Ellen, Bertha, and Hazel. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce McMahan McGeorge; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Kenneth Ayers of Jefferson City; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Cindy McGeorge, Terry and Lydia McGeorge, all of Maynardville, Mark and Christy McGeorge of Newport; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; brothers, Otto, Elihue and Robert McGeorge; sisters, Otella Russell, Nellie Hensley, Bonnie Seals, Pauline Riggs and Shirley Riggs; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, December 4, 2005 at Farrar Funeral Home with Reverend Sam Ayers and Reverend Ellis Seals officiating. Singers will be Ray and Doris Duncan. Pallbearers will be Eric and Andy McGeorge, Danny and Buddy Green, Joe Johnson and Jason Hatfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Sharp and Tim Atkins. Burial will follow the service in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the funeral home.
