Willis "Bud" Harold Bales

WILLIS HAROLD "BUD" BALES, age 83, of Talbott, TN passed away at UT Medical Center on Thursday, September 14, 2017. He was born December 1, 1933 in Jefferson City to the late Frank and Lerleane Bales. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from American Enka Corporation with 35 years of service, and Dandridge Golf Course. He was of strong faith and a member of Talbott Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, W. F. "Pete" Bales, and W. T. "Dude" Bales; sisters, Betty Jean "Bet" Blanton and Doris Elizabeth "Pig" French. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Sue Dawson Bales; son, William Dawson "Bill" Bales (Sherry Taylor); several nieces, nephews , many special friends and "adopted" children. He had a passion for life and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved to hunt and fish with his brothers and son. He loved riding motorcycles, and had a Harley-Davidson Trike that he called "Little Red" which he was still riding. He loved his family and friends, and never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed by many. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Henegar officiating and Brock Henry singing Bud's favorite song, "Beulah Land." Family will visit with friends following the service.
