William L. (Bill) Young

William L. Young, age 83 of Jefferson City, TN passed away at 6:00 p.m. on June 8, 2018 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital following a brief illness. He was a member of Mill Springs Baptist Church. He was a former owner of Young’s-West Clothing Store and an avid musician well known for his fiddle and guitar playing as well as singing. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Pat Young. He is survived by his wife, Clara Young, daughter, Teena (Mike) Hammer, son, Kevin (Marlene) Young, grandchildren, Caitlin (Robby) Whitted, Savannah Hammer, Connor Young, Eli and Cole Hammer, brothers, Bob, Paul, and Lynn Young, sister, Alice Hickle, several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Farrar Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Lindsey officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Mill Springs Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service with Glenn Ballinger officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or to the Shriner Children’s Hospital.
