William Everett Snapp, age 79, of White Pine, TN, born November 14, 1931 in Indian Creek, Jefferson County, Tennessee died on September 4, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde R. Snapp and Lucille Gorman Snapp; daughter, Denise Snapp Finchum; son, Everett Maurice Snapp; grandaughter, Alicia Ann Finchum; sister, Mrs. Bill (Mildred Snapp) Clevenger; and brother, Charles E. Snapp.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn Fox Snapp and children: Barry Snapp and wife June, Richard Snapp and wife Ginger, Debra Snapp Kerr and husband Johnny Kerr, Dennis L. Snapp, Dale Snapp, Linda Coleman Osborne, and Donna Marie Coleman; brother, Rev. Claude C. Snapp; sister, Mrs. Estel (Helen Snapp) Thornton; sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles E. (Carolyn) Snapp; special nephew Larry Rines. He is survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
Everett helped establish the White Pine Baseball League. He was a Trustee and Chairman of the Board of the White Pine Free Will Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from American Enka and an avid gardener. Everett was the featured bass singer for the Gateway Quartet which also performed in many local churches over the years.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 5, 2011 at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. Brian G. Osborne, Rev. Dennis Daugherty, and Rev. Jeff Daugherty officiating. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Lawson?s Chapel United Methodist Church on Indian Creek Road in Jefferson County, Tennessee.
