William "Ole" Olson

MSGT (USMC Ret.) William “Ole” Olson, age 77, of Dandridge, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015. He was a member of White Pine Freewill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. Ole is a retired MSGT from the USMC with 20 plus years of service. He is preceded in death by his father; William Howard Olson, step-father; Gordon Drury, mother; Dorothy VanDermill Drury, sister; Barbara Eckinger and daughter; Brenda Shaffer Olson. Survivors include his wife of 52 years; Dorothy “Dee” Shaffer Olson, daughter; Katherine (Bruce) Erb and the greatest nieces, nephews and friends in the world. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015, 7:00pm at White Pine Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Daugherty, Rev. Jeff Daugherty and Rev Roy Clement officiating, family will receive friends at the church from 5-7:00pm prior to the service.
