William Alan "Bill" Morgan

William Alan Morgan (Bill) died unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, August 14, 2021 with his loving husband, Jeremy, nearby. Bill was born on September 12, 1964 in Huron, South Dakota, second son of Russell R. Morgan, Jr. and Ruth E. Morgan (Blackburn). Lakota by marriage, he was also known as wi?h?a cha?t? wa?t?, which means, ?Man with good heart.? A resident of Dandridge TN, living near the historic family home, Bill loved and photographed flowering plants, the changing face of the lake, the Smoky Mountains, eagles and herons on the lake, and his beloved cats and dog. He and Jeremy were married on December 15, 2015 and together they enjoyed the company of family, traveling to visit friends and relatives, attending Pow Wows, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and supporting the Tennessee Vols. Surviving him are his husband, Jeremy Morgan, and Bill?s sisters and brothers, Linda Morgan-Clement, Carol Antoniewicz, Thomas Morgan, Mark Morgan, and Kristin Aicher. Also surviving Bill are his parents-in-law, Loretta Hawk and Jose ?Poncho? Mares of Scottsbluff, NB, and their other children, Miranda Yoklic, Rose Henderson, Paula Calder, Ami Torres, Starla McNutt, Eileen Hawk, and David Renteria. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Dandridge, TN, at 11am on Saturday, August 28. The families and friends will begin to gather in the sanctuary for a time of remembrance and visiting starting at 10am. We ask those who plan to attend in person to please wear masks as a sign of care for one another.
