William "Tito" Morelock

WILLIAM ?TITO? MORELOCK, age 80, much loved father, husband and friend, passed away at home Friday night, May 22, 2009, surrounded by his loved ones. He originally was from Greene County, TN, moving to Jefferson City upon his return from military service. Mr. Morelock had recently been hospitalized and treated by Dr. Saltzer, who he highly regarded, but after a lengthy stay, he chose to come home with the aid of Amedysis Hospice, to live his last days in his home of over 43 years, surrounded not only by his loving family, but also by neighbors he deeply loved and his pride and joy, his garden. Grieving this great man?s loss is wife, Helen J. Morelock; much loved children, Robin Morelock Snell, Tammie Swann, Wade Lee Morelock, and Keema Estes Kidd. There is one granddaughter, Brittni Estes, who has the only great-grandson, Kaden. There are seven grandsons, Tyler Gareis Snell, who ?Tito? named after his own dad, William Morelock and Ethan Morelock, who was born at the same hospital over the 6th floor, compared to ?Tito?s? 2nd floor stay only 4 days before his passing. He was equally proud and knows the other grandsons, Rocky Estes, Mathew Swann, Daniel Swann and Jarod Swann will follow by example and do great things with their lives. Paw T had two honorary grandsons who meant a lot to him in the end and they gave such comfort, Jonathan Calloway and Rusty Dalton. Family meant so much to ?Tito? and he always looked forward to his nightly calls from his nephew, Jim Morelock, and to weekly calls from his niece, Charlotte. ?Tito? was drafted into the service during the Korean War. He was extremely proud of his time spent as a Sargeant First Class with the 101 Airborne Screaming Eagles in the United States Army. Before leaving for the service, ?Tito? worked at Greenville?s Magnavox plant. Upon returning, he transferred to Magnavox in Jefferson City, where he stayed for 42 years. He was the General Foreman of the Cabinet Department and not only did he have great respect from his employees, he did so from his boss, who also equally admired him, Eric Deitz. Many employees will voice how fair, good and kind Mr. Morelock was and that every job was accomplished on time and correct. After early retirement from Magnavox/Philips, he worked at Tennessee Cabinet company until he retired ?for sure.? Upon retiring from cabinet making, ?Tito? called himself a ?dirt farmer.? Passing seeds down to the next generation is how he spread his heritage and he did it often. During Mr. Morelock?s illness, many much loved and appreciative neighbors started helping in his garden. They planted his precious beans and most prized tomatoes and potatoes. As ?Tito? lived in that house atop Rolling Acres, for over 43 years and being just the 2nd house built, special neighborly love was shared with Gwen, Harold, Tom, Kate, Carlos, Awilda, Barney, Betty, Ms. Griffen and Luke. It has been the highlight of his life on that hill, with no need to travel the world. While being critically ill, his classmates and long time friends gave him such comfort and special mention is given to John Oliver, Marie, Sue Ellen, Jeff Barnes, Billy, Jeff, Lyle, Lois and too many more to name. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Rev. Danny Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Farrar Funeral Home to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service with full military honors. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City, TN (865)475-3892
