William "Bill" Franklin

William "Bill" Ralph Franklin, 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 14, 2023. Bill was born in Piedmont, TN on May 14, 1936 to Ralph Tipton and Mary Ella Franklin.

Bill was married to his high school sweetheart Barbara Sue "Sudie" Romines for 68 years. He was valedictorian of his class at Maury High School. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army before a long career in electronics and co-owning Industrial Electronics, Inc. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, being an active member at Second Baptist Church in Clinton, and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his two children, Tony (Paulette) and Janice Hensley (Juel). He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren Austin (Carla), Rebecca, Samuel (Tiffany), and Andrew (Caroline) and three great-grandchildren Grace, Lilly, and William. He is also survived by his siblings Jay C. Franklin (Nancy) and Mary Jane Franklin Shoun (Richard).

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Clinton with a celebration of life to follow. He will be buried Wednesday, October 18, 2023, 10:00am in Piedmont, TN beside his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Northern Lights Missions to share God’s love with the people in Alaskan Villages.
