WILLIAM L. "DUB" ROACH, age 70, of Dandridge, TN passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 following a brief illness. He was born and raised in Clinton, TN, where he graduated from Clinton High School. Following graduation, he volunteered for the National Guard and that inspired him to join the U. S. Marine Corp, in which he made his career with 20 years of service. During his military enlistment, he served in the Vietnam Conflict, where he earned and received the Bronze Star w/Valor and the Purple Heart. He lived for many years in San Diego Co, CA and retired as a First Lieutenant. Preceded in death by father and mother, Christopher and Dona Roach; several siblings and special friend, Curt Kesterson. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda Berkey Roach of Dandridge; daughters and sons-in-law, Teri and Marty Gibbons, Tina and Craig Landis; grandchildren, Brian, Kyle, Cailen, Carissa, Scott, Kevin, Nikki, Sean Gibbons and Kira Landis, all of California; special friends and extended family, Vicky Kesterson, Todd, Kim and Kaylee Kesterson, Brian and Tonya Gauley and their children, Pat and Betty Best and many other special relatives from New York and California. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, August 29, 2008 at Farrar Funeral Dandridge Chapel with Dr. Robert McCray officiating. Interment graveside servives with military honors by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:0 p.m. Friday evening prior to the service.
