William "Bill" H. Carter

WILLIAM H. “BILL” CARTER, age 70, of Dandridge, TN passed away Wednesday morning, June 14, 2017 at Physicians Regional Medical Center, Knoxville. He was the son of the late Irvin and Mary (Underwood) Carter, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia Carter and sister, Lois Ann Wright. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and then had a 37 year career in law enforcement, serving as an officer with the Jefferson Co. Sheriff’s Dept. and the Jefferson City, White Pine and Dandridge Police Departments. He served for many years as Chief of Police for the Dandridge Police Dept. before his retirement. Bill is survived by his daughter, Kara “Nikki” (Shane) Thurman; step-daughters, Tanya (Warren) Stinson and Gina Arnold; grandchildren, Kandace Roberts and Jordan Thurman; step-grandchildren, Brittany Grindstaff, Brad Carr, Craig Collins, Kristen and Creed Moore; great-grandchildren, Ava and Konner Roberts and Brody Carr; brother, Leslie Carter; sister, Debra Colbach. Funeral services Saturday, June 17, 2017, 6:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Carr officiating. Interment graveside services with military honors will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:00am at Dandridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00pm prior to services at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE
