Wiley S. Day

Wiley S. Day, age 56, of New Market, TN left his broken body and departed this earth to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2014. Wiley was born March 22, 1958 in Prescott, AZ and spent his childhood in and around the Prescott/Flagstaff area. After serving 4 years in the U.S. Army and working as a miner in Leadville, CO, he moved with his wife and oldest daughter in 1982 to Jefferson City, TN where he made a permanent home for he and his family. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and took pride in his involvement in the youth group with his 3 children. Wiley was an avid sportsman who loved to fish and hunt, a passionate gardener, and lover of nature and the outdoors. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Paul and Mary Beth Day of New Market, TN, daughter Jennifer Day of Jefferson City, TN, daughter and grandchildren, Jessica Day Trent, Hunter and London Trent of Jefferson City, TN, sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Robert McIntyre of Carmel, NY, sister and brother-in-law Lori and Joseph Brownfield of Yelm, WA, brothers, Donald Day and Barry Day of Golden, CO, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. The family will celebrate his life and share memories of him at a memorial service to be held Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cherokee Dam Pavilion in Jefferson City, TN.
