Wanda Hackney Taylor (71) of Dandridge, TN entered the kingdom of Heaven on June 20TH 2020. She is proceeded in death by her parents Edward and Melda Hackney; Husband Roy Taylor; Son Roy Jr., and sister-in-law Anna Hackney. She survived by siblings, Carol (Ronnie) Gibson, and Chris Hackney. Children Amy (Rickey) Shaver and Daniel Taylor. Grandchildren Ashley (Blake) Buell, Alyssa, Ben, and Ella Morrison and greatgrandchildren Kayson and Rowan Buell and many loved ones.
She was a tiny mustard seed of faith and a humble servant. She dedicated her life to sharing her testimony of the miracles of God. She was always the first person her loved ones would call for a prayer request, whether it would be a sick loved one or lost set of keys.
Wandie was an entertainer. Her niece, Susan, puts it best when she asked, “Isnt it amazing how God could squeeze so much love, laughter, and fun into such a tiny little person?” Whether it was a silly song, or crazy dance she never failed to entertain. She was a chef, she felt like her job as a mother and a wife wasn’t complete without three home cooked meals each day. Life won't be the same without her fried chicken and from scratch homemade biscuits and gravy.
Wanda loved her family. She was her granddaughter’s best friend. Her bible, loved to sing. She loved food: sweets, cheese, chocolate covered cherries, Zaxby’s, circus peanuts, coffee. *She woke up from a coma and the first thing she asked for was coffee*’
She loved her animals. Precious, dusty, and sweet Olivia. Her parrot Billie.
She was a fierce protector. She advocated for those she loved.
She strived to be Christ-like. She was forgiving. Patient. Kind, and compassionate.
Please remember her as the strong, loving, courageous, goofy little lady she always was.
Mom is loved and greatly missed by all.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Broyles officiating.
