WALTER LEON SEAHORN, age 86, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Walter and Mary Coxe Seahorn. He is survived by his wife, Jama Rubin Seahorn; daughter, Susan K. Seahorn; son, Dr. Thomas L. Seahorn; daughter-in-law, Dr. Janyce Cornick Seahorn; grandsons, Bradley Ryan Seahorn and Samuel Jason Seahorn. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Jefferson City, where he served as Edler and Deacon. He attended the public schools of Jefferson County, and then Maryville College and the University of Tennessee. Over the course of years, he was a member of the Jefferson City Lions Club, Jefferson City Community Council, the Flat Gap Community Club, Farm Bureau, Tennessee Grassland Commission, Knoxville Milk Producers Association, and held various offices in these organizations. For thirty years, he was a building contractor and manager of Leeper Building Supply and farmed in his spare time. His first love was farming the land, which had been in his family for seven generations. He returned to farming full time after retiring, until crippling arthritis made him unable to continue this activity. The funeral service will be Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City with Rev. Russ Weekley officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday, February 20, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. ARRANGEMENTS BY FARRAR FUNERAL HOME IN JEFFERSON CITY, TN (865) 475-3892
