WALTER B. "PETE" MCCAMPBELL, JR., age 69, of Dandridge, TN passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2007. He was born and raised in the Piedmont Community of Jefferson County, the son of the late Walter and Ollie Free McCampbell,Sr. He was a member of the McCampbell's Chapel United Methodist Church and the Del Rio Bear Hunting Club. In his early days, he was the youngest engineer to serve the E.J.& E. Railroad in Indiana and was a former policeman for the Jefferson City Police Dept; owner and operator of Pete's Pit Stop and was a retired automobile salesman. He is survived by his wife, Stella Sipe McCampbell of Dandridge; children, Alisa Gil and husband, Carlos of Collierville, TN, Walter Bryan McCampbell III and wife, Stacey of New Market,TN, Gregory McCampbell of Locust Grove, GA; grandchildren, Chase, Hayley, Brody and Alec; sister, Trula Carman of New Market; brother, William (Jack) McCampbell; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Robert Brewer and Rev. Troy Duncan officiating. Interment graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2007 at McCampbell's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. prior to the service.
