VON 'SLICK' EDMONDS, age 71, of Talbott, TN passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Select Specialty (St. Mary's) in Knoxville after a 15-year fight with emphysema. Mr. Edmonds was born on July 1, 1936 in Jefferson City, the son of the late Von R. and Nan Edmonds. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Talbott. He was retired from BASF after 25 years of service. He was a charter member of West Hamblen County Volunteer Fire Department, a founding board member of "Die Cast Digest," and an active member of the Morristown Senior Citizens Center. Preceded in death by his brother, Tom. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mitzi Edmonds; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Heather Edmonds of Huntersville, NC; sisters, Peggy McNish, Bobbie Parsons and Linda Carter; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with friends, Richard Ford, Larry Lister and Jerry Shackelford officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Morristown Senior Citizen Center, 841 Lincoln Avenue,Morristown, TN 37813.
