VIVA J. HENDERSON, age 87 of Dandridge, Tn passed away Thursday morning, December 11, 2003 at the Jefferson Co. Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was a member of the Deep Springs Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Selma Jenkins; husband, Sylvester (Bess) Henderson and brother, Sedette Jenkins. Survived by daughter, Selma Rhea (Oren) Russell of Strawberry Plains; sons, Bill (Judy) Sprinkle of Bridgeport, AL, Tom (Doris) Sprinkle of Talbott; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Leonard E. (Deloris) Jenkins of Talbott; sister in law, Odell Jenkins of Dandridge; special niece, Elayne Frederick of Ohio. The family would like to express their deep appreciation and thanks to the staff of the Jefferson County Nursing Home for their care and kindness. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Deep Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 408 McGuire Road, Jefferson City, tn 37760. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 at Farrar Dandridge Funeral Chapel with Ref. Marvin Phillips and Rev. Ben Knight officiating. Interment graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003 at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
