Virginia Lee Ollis, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Heritage Center in Morristown. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Ollis and son, Jerry Ollis of White Pine. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Michael) Potts, grandchildren, Trey and Jenna Potts of Morristown; sister-in-laws, Mary Ollis of White Pine, Dorothy Lowe of Ferndale, Michigan, Pauline (Gordon) Jacobs of Morristown, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a teacher assistant for approximately twenty years in the Jefferson County School System. Her favorite past time was flower gardening as her residence received the “Beautification Award” several years. She was a member of Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church where she served in WMU, the church décor and building committees.
While at Heritage, she was a recipient of “Who’s Who in Long Term Care” from the Tennessee Healthcare Association. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers and staff of Heritage Center along with the University of Tennessee Hospice Staff.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 2, 2021, from 4-6:00 pm at Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church with the service to follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad and Rev. Brandon Cate officiating. Graveside interment will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 1:00 pm in White Pine Cemetery. The family has requested, In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church, 874 Leadvale Church Road, White Pine, TN 37890.
