VIRGINIA WALL HOWE, age 93, of Jefferson City, formerly of Knoxville, TN passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Jefferson County Nursing Home. Mrs. Howe was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and was a long time fourth grade teacher at Mooreland Heights Elementary School in Knoxville. She is preceded in death by her husband, William G. Howe, Sr.; sons, Dr. John W. Howe and William G. Howe, Jr; parents, James B. and Evelyn P. Wall. She is survived by her brother, (Ret) Col. William E. (Frances) Wall of Hopewell, VA; daughters-in-law, Rosalynn D. Howe of Jefferson City and Frances C. Howe of Knoxville; grandsons, James J. Howe, Dr. William D. (Jenny) Howe, all of Jefferson City, Dr. W. Curtis (Beth) Howe; granddaughter, Pace Howe (Jeff) McCamy, all of Knoxville; nephew, William J. (Carolyn) Wall of Jacksonville, FL; niece, Nancy Wall (Clay) Burres of Colonial Heights, VA; seven great grandchildren and three great nephews. A private memorial graveside service will be held at Jellico Cemetery in Jellico, TN. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Jefferson County Nursing Home and longtime caregiver, Ernestine Vance.
