VIRGINIA (SHEETS) GWYNN, of Jefferson City, TN passed away at home on Friday morning, March 19, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Gwynn; her parents, John and Gertrude Sheets; and her brother, John Sheets, Jr. She grew up attending Martha Davis Baptist Church in Jefferson City. Virginia worked for the Ayres family in Knoxville as a young girl and then spent 19 years at Tennessee School of Beauty. From there she went on to work for the City of Knoxville under the administrations of both Mayor Kyle Testerman and Mayor Randy Tyree. She was employed by Sears of Morristown in later years. When she finally retired, she spent most of her time with her family and friends. Virginia never met a stranger and she will truly be missed. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughters, Pat Crippins and Charlotte (Michael, Sr.) Tate; grandchildren, Melissa and Michael Tate, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Myles, Bryant and Mikaylen, all of Georgia; siblings, Thomas (Barbara Jean) Sheets of Jefferson City, TN, Susan Smith of Morristown, TN, James (Elaine) Sheets of Dallas, TX, Mary (Harry) Phipps of Jefferson City and Gladys (George) Clay of Jacksonville, FL. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., followed by a brief memorial service at 2:00.
