Virginia Ellen Denton

VIRGINIA ELLEN DENTON, age 83, of New Market, TN passed away on September 2, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Virginia was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing and Lady Vols basketball. She was a devout and active member of Dumplin Baptist Church, which included the Golden Gems. She also enjoyed food preparation and overseeing kitchen responsibilities for many church activities. Virginia also loved spending time with her family and friends. Preceded in death by her father and mother, Clifford and Zelma Loveday, and brother Samuel Loveday. She is survived by her husband or 64 years, Jack C. Denton; daughters, Rhonda (Phil) Gibson, Vickie (Kevin) Fox; granddaughters, Jennifer Correll, Keisha (Charles) Pack, Kelli Fox; great-granddaughters, Caitlyn, Hannah and MeKenzie; along with many other extended family members and special friends at Terry Point Campground. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Dumplin Baptist Church, 1843 Dumplin Road, New Market, TN with Rev. Kim McCroskey, Rev. Ricky Hardin and Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Graveside interment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Hillcrest Cemetery.
