Virgie Mae Howard Dugger

Virgie Mae Howard Dugger, age 82, of New Market, TN went to be with the Lord, July 28, 2024 surrounded by her daughters. She was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Virgie made many lifelong friends while working over twenty years with her brother Dr. J.E. Howard. Her greatest joy was caring for her family, especially her four grandchildren, and she was so excited to meet her first great granddaughter that will be born in October, Kinslee.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Dugger; son, Richard Dugger; grandson, James Paul Conner; parents, A.H. and Elizabeth Howard; brother, Dr. J.E. Howard; and sisters, Hazel Wyrick and Daphine Holder. She is survived by her daughters, Paula (Mike) Conner and Susan (Scott) Russell; grandchildren, Shaun (Kimberly) Conner, Zac (Fiance, Katie Law) Conner, Cameron Russell, and Natalie Russell; brothers, Frank Howard, Martin (Lois) Howard, and Herbert (Nina) Howard; twin sister, Virginia Shelby; brothers-in-law, Bob Dugger and Carl Dugger; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, TN with a 7:00 p.m. funeral service to follow with Rev. Darrall Walker and Rev. Johnnie Beeler officiating. Friends and family will gather August 1, 2024 at 10:45a.m. at Pleasant Grove-Fielden Cemetery for an 11:00a.m. graveside service with Dr. J.W. Taylor officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pleasant Grove- Fielden Cemetery (P.O. Box 1102 Dandridge, TN 37725).
