Obituary:
Violet French Barbee, of the Piedmont Community, Dandridge passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville following a brief illness. She was a member of the Piedmont Baptist Church. She was born in Jamestown, NY the daughter of the late Winfred J. and LaGloria Kelly French and was raised in the Piedmont Community of Dandridge where she went to school, married and spent the rest of her life being active in her community. Preceded in death by husbands, George Snodderly (1949) and Paul Barbee (1995); sisters, Alberta French Jones and Hope French; brother, Earl French. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister and made every attempt possible to show that love and support of family was one of the most important gifts from God.
Survivors:
Daughter and Son-in-law: Tammie and Jack Farrar of Dandridge
Granddaughters: Laura Farrar and Kelly Farrar
Brother and Sister-in-law: Shirley and Betty French of Chestnut Hill
Several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and considered as her own children and many special friends that were so important in her life.
Funeral services Sunday, 2:00 PM at Piedmont Baptist Church with Rev. James Kinser, Rev. Clyde Tilley and Rev. Bob Neal officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial gifts be made a benefit of your choice to help others. Family will receive friends Saturday 6:00 to 8:00 PM at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE
