Vernon M. Wigle

Vernon M. Wigle, 81, of Talbott, TN passed away peacefully on July 30, 2016. He graduated from Carson Newman College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Latin. He enjoyed studying languages, history and the Bible. He loved to collect books and enjoyed giving them to others. A lay speaker, he pastored churches in Maryland and Tennessee. He was a gifted calligrapher and worked many years as a graphic artist. Following his retirement as a graphic artist, he worked for several years as a job coach for Goodwill Industries. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry M. and Minnie L. Wigle, brothers, Harry and Gerald Wigle. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia "Ginny" Wigle; children, Lynn (Bill) Bozman, Beth Cox, Jennifer Zamboni, David Wigle (April Griffith), Christy (Roger) Hawkins, Jon (Melissa) Wigle and Tim Wigle; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
