Vergie Elorie Lane Stewart

Vergie Elorie Lane Stewart, age 78, of Talbott, TN passed away Sat. Nov. 9, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital following an extended illness. She was born Dec. 27, 1934 at Tazewell, TN in Claiborne County. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1952 and in October of the same year she married Joe H. Stewart and moved to Detroit, MI. She worked for an Insurance Company for ten years and then devoted her following years to raising a family. She is preceded in death by her parents; William Glen Lane and Stella Blanche Baker Lane. She is survived by her husband, Joe Stewart; Sons, Michael Joseph and Mark Scott; beloved daughter-in-law: Lori Ann; grandchildren, Thomas and Sarah; several nieces and nephews. One of Vergie’s favorite quotes is “God gives us memory so that we may have Roses in December”. Graveside funeral service will be held 11: 00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating.
