Velma JoAnn McKinney Kinley, age 86 passed away on Thursday, September 15th, 2022, at her home in White Pine, TN.  JoAnn was a member of Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church of White Pine.  She was an extremely talented and loving mother and friend. Her hands could not be still.  She loved to paint, draw, sew, work with crafts, flowers and gardens.  She canned vegetables and loved cooking, especially potato chip cookies for everyone she met and knew.  She was a talented piano player and played and sang in church in her younger years.  She wrote a book telling the story of her childhood “Memories.” She is preceded in death by husband, Charles “Bud” Kinley;  parents, Elbert H. (Ben) and Mary F. McKinney;  sisters, Ruby Potter, Ruth Robertson, Edith McClanahan, Hazel Dickerson, Lois Jones, Ora Canter and Mary Frances McKinney; bBrothers, Elbert H McKinney, Jr., George McKinney; infant brothers James Allen and Gene McKinney all of Morristown.  Survivors include daughter, Debbie Orrick Collins (Larry) of White Pine;  granddaughters, Lisa Ball (Chris) and Kellie Rooker (Tim) of White Pine;  great- grandchildren, Hannah and Taylor Ball, Abbey and Brandon Rooker;  great-great-granddaughters,  Alaina and Brianna Rooker;  sister-in-law, Evelyn (E.H.Jr.) McKinney of White Pine;  Several loving nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her dearest friend and “buddy,” Stuart Nelson of White Pine, as well as many, many very dear loving friends and neighbors.  The family wishes to extend their appreciation to pastors, Rev. Charlie Harkleroad and Rev. Brandon Cate for their loving support.  Also, our appreciation is extended to Smokey Mountain Home Health & Hospice for the wonderful care given.  Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Hamblen Memory Gardens with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad and Rev. Brandon Cate officiating. In lieu of gifts or flowers the family asks that you make donations to the White Pine Senior Citizens Center, 1824 Maple St., White Pine 37890, or to Leadvale Baptist Church, 874 Leadvale Church Rd., White Pine 37890.   Thank you.
