VAUGHN L. FOX, age 89, of Dandridge, TN (Shady Grove Community) passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Jefferson County Nursing Home. He was an active member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, where he was the oldest male member, and a veteran of the US Navy and World War II. He was a member of the Dandridge VFW Post #3380, Brazelton Lodge #190 F & AM, Martha Dandridge Chapter Order of the Eastern Star # 438, and the Dandridge Senior Citizens. Preceded in death by wife, Bernice Fox; parents, George (Pap) and Abbie Fox; brother, Virgil Eugene Fox. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Donavon E. and Judy Fox; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Frankie Simms; grandchildren, Angie and Steven Chambers, Sandi and Scott Childs, Scott and Sherry Simms, Stephanie Simms Rustin, Kristi and Todd DeMaria; great-grandchildren, Shane Chambers, Scotty Childs Haley Chambers and fiancé Josh Manuel, Seth Childs and wife, Kandus, Blakely Rustin, Eli Rustin, Keira Demaria and Kelly DeMaria; sister, Ruth Patterson; sister-in-law, Jewell and Harold Lewis; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many loving friends and neighbors. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Garland Long and Rev. Scott Brady officiating, and Masonic service to follow. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
