Vanessa and Paul West

Vanessa Lynn Garrett West was a caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on August 2, 2021, at age 49. She was born to Billy and Maxine Moles Garrett on October 30, 1971. She graduated nursing school in 1995 with an associate degree as a LPN. She went back to school in 2006 to get her bachelor?s degree to become a RN. She was a nurse for 25 years and loved her job. In November 1990 she married Paul in Las Vegas. They only had 1 child Shawn West. She loved the color pink, her Jeep, and butterflies. They always love to travel. Together with their son they seen 48 states, most of Canada, and some of Mexico. She is predeceased by her mother Maxine Moles Garrett She is survived by her son, Shawn West, father Billy Garrett of SC, brother Billy Garrett of Anderson, SC, her sister Tinisha Sammons of Starr, SC and 4 nephews. Paul Edward West was an amazing father, son, and brother. He also left this world suddenly on August 2, 2021, at age 58. He was born to Fred and Patricia Sorgman West on April 23, 1963. For over 30 years he did drywall finishing and some minor construction and painting work. In 2018 he built their house along with his son. He loved going to estate sales and antique shopping. He loved looking for unique antique tools or oil cans. In 2001 he got cancer but that only turned into positive memories. This is when he started chasing his dreams. As soon as he found out about having cancer, he took his family and moved to Alaska (one place he always wanted to see). From then on is when they started traveling and seeing all North America. He is predeceased by his father Fred West and his mother Patricia West. He is survived by his son, Shawn West, sister Patty Friddell of Knoxvile, TN, brother Steve West of Knoxville, TN, brother Fred West of Hiram, GA, and several nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service scheduled for 1 pm on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate (if possible) to Shawn to help with the funeral costs.
