Una Fay Whillock French

Una Fay Whillock French, age 89, a life time resident of the Piedmont Community, passed away Friday, July 25, 2003 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church. A loving mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Kenneth C. French; infant daughter, Barbara French; father and mother, James W. and Annit Britt Whillock; brother, Roy Whillock; sisters, Tina Huffaker and Bessie Underwood. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Edgar and Yvonne French of Nicholsville, KY, Jerry and Vickie French of Dandridge; daughter and son in law, Curtis and Charlotte Woods of Dandridge; grandchildren, Cindy and John Cagle, Wayne and Brandi Woods, Chris and Stacy Woods, and Kelly and Chris Fitch; nine precious great grandchildren; sister, Bernice Massengill of Knoxville; brother in law, L. D. Underwood of Strawberry Plains; several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all her special caregivers over the past years and the staff and employees of Jefferson County Nursing Home for their loving care and concern. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003 at the Piedmont Baptist Church with Rev. James Kinser and Rev. Marshall Knight officiating. Interment will follow in the Piedmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.
