Trula Wine Thomas

TRULA WINE THOMAS, age 89, of Dandridge, TN passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Jefferson County Nursing Home in Dandridge, TN. She was a member of the French Broad Church of the Brethren and was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah T. and Tina Whitson Wine. Trula is survived by her husband of 65 years, C. H. Thomas; her son, Alvin Carroll and daughter-in-law, Kay McMahan Thomas; her daughter, Phyllis and son-in-law, Benjamin Long; grandson, Randall and spouse, Allison Davis Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Davis and KayLee; grandson, Jeremy and spouse, Jenny Thomas; and grandson, Matthew Long. During the four years Trula was a resident at the Jefferson County Nursing Home, she developed many close acquaintances and was lovingly cared for by the resident staff of the 4th station. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at the French Broad Church of the Brethren with the body being moved to the church to lie in state one hour before the service. Reverend Ronald K. Wine, a second cousin to Trula and close member of the family will officiate at the service. Interment will immediately follow the service at the French Broad Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge.
