Tom Merriman

TOM MERRIMAN, age 76, of Dandridge, TN passed away Monday evening, March 5, 2007 at his home following a brief illness. Tom was an active member of the Dandridge First United Methodist Church. Former employee of East Tennessee Packing Co. Tom was a self-employed carpenter and retired from the maintenance department of the Jefferson County School System. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Ethel Kennedy Merriman (Nov. 9, 2006); father and mother, Hilford and Mary Julian Merriman; daughter, Sandra K. Tipton; step-grandson, Little Ed Tipton; brothers, Edwin Merriman and J. C. Merriman. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tracy Merriman; grandchildren, Joe, Jesse, Tommy and Sam Merriman; step-grandchildren, Jason Thayer, Chris Commander, Scott and Julie Williams; step-son and wife, Eddie and Patsy Tipton; step-grandchildren, Marjorie Tipton, Robby Tipton, Tony Tipton, Sandy Martin, Stacey Gallyon and Scott Tipton; sister, Elizabeth Kennedy. Memorial service will be Friday, March 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Dandridge with Rev. Marvin Howard and Rev. Larry DeVault officiating. Family will receive friends Friday evening, March 9, 2007 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Methodist Men Program of the First United Methodist Church, P.O.
