Thomas A. Galitza, age 64, of Baneberry, TN, died unexpectedly September 27, 2017. He is predeceased by his parents Bernard and Mary Galitza, and Brother- in-law Dwight Dairy. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kristine Galitza; Son, Jason (Jennifer) Galitza,; Grandsons, Cale and Rece Galitza; Sister, Rosemary Dairy; Sisters-in-law, Julie (Joe) Walter and Laura (Mitch) Adkins; Mother-in-law, Mardell Willit; 6 nieces, 3 nephews, 3 great-nieces, 3 great-nephews, and numerous close friends.
Tom spent his career working in public utilities and was Director of Utilities for The Village of Granville, OH; City of Columbus, OH; City of Delaware, OH, and Seabrook Island, SC. He enjoyed mentoring others in this field and taught for the Operator Training Committee of Ohio, and was a member of AWWA. Later in his career, Tom founded his own company that provided water system services to public and private organizations.
Tom was an avid music lover and musician. In his teens and early twenties, he played keyboards for several local rock bands. In his spare time, he also enjoyed traveling; especially to the ocean and beaches of North and South Carolina.
There will be a private memorial at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee or a charity of your choice.
