Broadway Blvd. Jefferson City, TN 37760 Phone (865) 475-3892 Fax (865) 475-9916 OBITUARY: THOMAS MANN CRAWFORD, age 80, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Monday, July 2, 2007, surrounded by his family, after a long and fulfilling life in Jefferson County. Born January 24, 1927 to Hugh Daniel and Annie Mann Crawford in Jefferson City, he was a lifelong and respected farmer, cattleman and businessman. Mr. Crawford served as a member of the board of directors of Jefferson County Farm Bureau for 41 years. He also served on the boards of Jefferson County Livestock Association and the First National Bank of Jefferson County. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City. He was known as a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many in Jefferson County. He enjoyed good food, working and trading cattle, tilling the soil and visiting with friends, neighbors and family. He will be missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Crawford. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Mary Ruth McMurray Crawford; his children, John and Denise Crawford, along with grandsons, Jordan and Cameron Crawford, of Germantown, TN, and Richard and Lou Ann Crawford Hinshaw, along with grandchildren, Brad and Mary Blake Hinshaw of Chesapeake, VA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Neil Manley, Mary and Richard Gombert, Agnes and Bobby Sharp and Sarah Faye and Kyle Hensley of Jefferson County; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Crawford of Richland, WA, Charles and Mary Ruth Crawford of Mascot, TN, and Judy Crawford of Eugene, OR; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Isabelle and Charles Peck of Oak Ridge, TN; along with many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007 at First Methodist Church of Jefferson City with Rev. Doug Wilder officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Family and friends will meet at Mt. Horeb Cemetery at 4:30 p.m. following the service for the graveside interment service. The immediate family extends their gratitude to the many friends and family, including medical personnel who have been wonderfully caring during his illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the organization of the donor's choice or to first United Methodist Church of Jefferson City.
