Thelma Strange Lindsey

Thelma Strange Lindsey, age 90, of Dandridge, TN, passed away Friday afternoon, May 2, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Dandridge, where she had served faithfully on the kitchen committee. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Lindsey; parents, Willie and Edie Baker Strange; brothers, Murph Strange, Jess Strange and Leon Strange and sister, Lillie Fine. She is survived by her foster son, Leonard Roberts; sisters, Nina Swann of Dandridge, Frances Swann of Morristown and Grace Berrier of Knoxville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Dandridge with Dr. Robert McCray officiating and music by Tracy Wilson. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 246, Dandridge, TN 37725.
