Box 1025 Dandridge, TN 37725 Phone (865) 397-2711 Fax (865) 397-9289 OBITUARY: THELMA RUTH FRANKLIN LINDSAY, age 72, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, February 8, 2005 at her home after a brief illness. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Dandridge, where she was a member of the Fidelis Volunteer Sunday School class. She was also involved in both the music and nursing home ministries. She thoroughly enjoyed her activities at the Dandridge Senior Citizens Center, especially winning prizes at bingo and playing with the canasta club. She was a devoted member of the Aquatic Arthritis class at the Jefferson City Community Center. Preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lettie Thomas Franklin; brothers, Raymond and Keith Franklin; sister, Mary Lee Franklin Webb; and great granddaughter, Samantha Nicole Lane. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Walter G. (Junior) Lindsay; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Jim Kelley; sons, Gene Lindsay and Betty Vanover, Gary Lindsay and Angie Riggs; daughter, Diane Lindsay Matthews; brothers and sisters-in-law, Quentin and Roxie Franklin, Ralph and Libby Franklin, Ben and Linda Franklin, Howard and Nancy Franklin; sister, Cordie Grace Manning; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Franklin; grandchildren, Patrick and Sean Kelley, Tasha and husband Stacy Lane; great grandchildren, Gregory, Alex and Melissa and Deana; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2005 from the First Baptist Church in Dandridge with Dr. Robert McCray officiating. Interment will follow the service at Grants Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Dandridge.
