Age 79 passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 with his family by his side after a year long battle with cancer. He was born January 31, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a retired journalist/graphic artist from the Chicago Tribune where he worked for 25years. A United States Air Force and Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Jill (nee Malinowski) Volpp of Mascot, Tennessee; two brothers, Kenneth Lee (Rebecca) Volpp of Georgia, and Douglas Lee (Karen) Volpp of Florida. Loving father of Kimberly Volpp, Kelly (Gregg) Surges, Ken Volpp (Brad Straka) and Amanda (Ryan) White. He was a proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren Nicole Simotes, Danielle Shaddon, Hailey Shaddon, Geordi Surges, Angelina Surges, Bentley White, Gannon White, and McKenna White, and 1 great-grandson Weston Ferguson. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth C. and Helen J. Volpp. Terry loved fishing, military antiques, movie posters, metal detecting and spending time with family. Cremation rites will be observed at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City, Tennessee and a celebration of life will follow at a later date.
