Terry Newton Leeper, age 68, went into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. He was a member of French Broad Baptist Church in Dandridge, TN. He was a graduate of Jefferson City High School and Carson-Newman College. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert John Leeper “RJ” and Mary Couch Leeper. He is survived by his sister, Lisa Leeper (Greg) Williams of Jefferson City; nephews, Brian (Ashley) Williams of Jefferson City, and Eric (Sarah) Williams of Arrington, TN; several great nieces and nephews, Maddox, Caroline, Samuel, Judah, Emma-Jane, Avery, Leah, and Grant Williams. Terry grew up helping in the family business at Leeper Hardware, especially the original toy store. Terry loved his family and was an avid history buff and enjoyed watching sports. He also loved collecting flowers from the family farm. He loved walking into town to visit the library. Friends and family would say he was like a “walking encyclopedia” of information. A receiving of friends will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at French Broad Baptist Church in Dandridge with services and a graveside immediately following at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the French Broad Baptist Church cemetery fund, 2117 Oak Grove Road, Dandridge, TN 37725 or Appalachian Ministries of the Smokies, Amos, 511 Municipal Drive, Jefferson City, TN 37760
