TERRY JEAN MORRIS SAMS, age 78, of Dandridge, TN died peacefully in her home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on July 5, 2024. She was a beloved mom, wife, sister, grandmommy, teacher, quilter, artist, gardener, baker, hiker, and dog lover. Her hands were always busy serving others. Terry loved East Tennessee, but her greatest love was Jesus and sharing the gospel of the saving work of the cross. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dandridge, and a retired 4th grade teacher at Piedmont Elementary School. Preceded in death by her father, Omas Morris and mother, Helen Saxon; and her brother, Gary Morris. She is survived by her husband, Roy Lee Sams; sons, Jeffery Allen Sams (Nancy), Roy Clark Sams (Meg); daughter, Kelly Sams Lindner (Robert); grandchildren, Rylan, Connor, Asher, August, Elijah, Malachi, Emi, Wade, Tara, Maci and Robby; brothers, Larry Morris (Sandi) and Charles Saxon; sisters-in-law, Christine Lovelace and Nancy Fox. Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024 at French Broad Baptist, 2117 Oak Grove Rd., Dandridge, TN. The service will follows at 11:00 a.m. with her son, Roy Clark Sams officiating. Graveside interment service will follow in the French Broad Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piedmont Elementary School, 1100 W. Dumplin Valley Road, Dandridge, TN 37725, or to First Baptist Church of Dandridge missions program, PO Box 246, Dandridge, TN 37725.
