Born and raised in Centralia, Illinois, he graduated from Centralia High School. Attending the University of Tennessee, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, where he co-oped with Dupont. Aside from his family, the greatest dedication in his life was his 34 years of service to DuPont. He presently was employed by Invista as Director of Compliance and Planning Performance Fibers. Survivors include his wife, Ella Davis; one son, Lynn Davis and wife, Bethany of Atlanta, GA; brother, Gary Davis and wife, Donna of Aiken, South Carolina; sister, Kimberly Crane and husband, Allen, of Sachse, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2004 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. The graveside funeral service will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery with Reverend Jeffrey Moncier officiating.
