Broadway Blvd. Jefferson City, TN 37760 Phone (865) 475-3892 Fax (865) 475-9916 OBITUARY: TENNIE (MAMAW) SNYDER, age 87, of Strawberry Plains, TN passed on to Heaven Thursday, February 21, 2008 and is now with her dear husband, Johnny and son, Wayne. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Nora Hargus; brothers, Willard and Billy; and son-in-law, Don Griffey. She was a member of Holston Memorial Baptist Church, Kodak #460 Eastern Star, Carter FCE Homemaker's Club, Golden Nuggets, Young At Heart and Paw Paw Hollow Senior Centers. She was affectionately known as Mamaw to everyone. She enjoyed crafts and devoting her time and love to her family and friends. Survived by son, Haskel and wife, Wilma Snyder of Bristol, TN; daughters, Lois Griffey, Phyllis and husband, Wayne Jones, Judy and husband, Fred Stansberry, all of Strawberry Plains, Nora Lee and husband, Jim Burroughs of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Louise Snyder of Greeneville; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Roxie Dockery and Mae Hargus; brother, Charles and Tommie Hargus of Kentucky; special friend, Burton Acuff; sisters-in-law, Belva, Blanche, Irene and Edith; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Holston Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Statzer and Reverend Arthur Pedigo officiating. Family and friends will meet at Oak Grove Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Sunday for a 2:00 p.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Mary's Residential Hospice and Dr. Amy Rosine.
