SWAN DANCE, SR, age 88, of Dandridge, TN (Chestnut Hill Community), who was currently a resident of the Regency Retirement Village of Morristown, passed away Wednesday morning, November 6, 2013. He was born and raised in Rutledge, TN the son of the late Charlie and Phoebie Gilbert Dance. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and World War II, having served in France as a tank driver with the 749th Tank Battalion, crossing the Rhine River into Germany. Following the end of the War, he served in the occupation forces for 2 years. He was a former long-time employee of Bush Brothers and Co. and Pemberton Trucking Co. Swan was a member of the Brazelton Lodge #190 F. & AM, the Jacksonville Shrine Club and V.F.W. Post# 3349 of Palatka, FL. He and his wife founded the B-Size Potato Co. of Palatka, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Watson Dance and son, Swan Dance, Jr. He is survived by his children, Glenda and Nicholas Kopchinsky of Fredricksburg, VA, June and Henry Pearson of St. Augustine, FL; Randy Dance of Newport; daughter-in-law, Becky Dance; grandchildren, April Carnaghi, Nick (Michelle) Kopchinsky, Michael (Hickory) Pearson, Kristi Dance, Megan (Derrick) Stinson, Sam (Megan) Dance, Eric (Ashley) Dance; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Katherine, Kacee, Austin, Phelan, Gabe, Marina, Will, Daniel, Ethan, Madison, Abbigail, Kaylee, and Dylon; several nieces and nephews. Masonic funeral service will be held Friday, November 8, 2013, 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with rites by Brazelton Lodge. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to the service.
