Svetlana (Lana) Kirk

Svetlana Kirk (Lana), MA, MS, CCC-SLP passed away August 21, 2021. She was born in Saint Petersburg Russia on September 28, 1968. She leaves behind her son, Stass Kirk of Dandridge, TN, her mother, Albena Maikhiovna Kraeva and her sister, Elena Sheykinia, both of Saint Petersburg, Russia. Other family are, Stass?s dad, Chris Kirk of Dandridge, TN, Stass?s Uncle Gary and Aunt Bernadette Kirk of Knoxville, Tennessee, Aunt Jenny and Uncle Charlie Forgy of Cleveland, TN, and Stass?s Aunt Piper and Uncle Dan Inman of Kingsport, TN. She was preceded in death by her father, Anatolii Fedorovic Sheikin. Svetlana was raised in and attended college in Saint Petersburg, Russia where she taught and tutored English. She and her son moved to America on June 3, 1999 where she, soon after, received her Masters Degree from East Tennessee State University in Speech Language Pathology. She built a beautiful career helping numerous children with speech and language issues and the elderly with stroke recovery and swallowing issues. She was a hero to many. Svetlana loved living on the lake and boating. She painted and enjoyed nontraditional mediums and oils in particular. She was a lover of the fine arts; museums, opera, and classical music, among others. She was an avid reader on various topics and was always seeking knowledge. She had a smart sense for fashion. The love of her life was her son and she will be dearly missed. Due to Covid 19 a memorial service will be held at a later date.
