Steven Michael Doughty

STEVEN MICHAEL DOUGHTY, age 64, of Jefferson City, TN passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, surrounded by those closest to him. He was the owner and operator of Steve Doughty Insurance Agency for many years. Steve loved ice cream (by the gallons), University of Tennessee football, and spending time with his girls. Steve was chronically late to any event and lived life at his own pace, always making time for others. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nelda Doughty; sister, Cindy Doughty; lifelong friends, Wendell Cannon, Carl Ogle, Mark Seals, Bob Finchum and Bob Hogan. Steve was the adoring father of Ashley Baxley, her husband Jeff, and Holli Pittman and her husband David. He was a devoted grandfather to Weston Baxley and Tinsley Pittman. He was the peacemaker of the family and loved all of his sisters, Marilyn Jones, Gloria Lambdin (Larry), Terri Doughty, and Doris Patterson (Don); nieces and nephews, Robbie Jones, Kristie Gives, Mike McGlamery, and Aimee Davis, their families, and many dear friends who will miss his charismatic personality and wit. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Mercy Baptist Church, 3190 Valley Home Road, Morristown, TN 37813 on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
