Shirley Long Tipton

SHIRLEY LONG TIPTON, age 67, of Dandridge, TN passed away Wednesday evening, September 23, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a long time active member of the Deep Springs Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School teacher, WMU and was a faithful prayer warrior. A loving mother and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Lena Brown Long. Survived by beloved daughter and son-in-law, Bentina and Patrick Duck; grandchildren, Emily Grace Duck and William Patrick Duck; spouse, Ben Tipton; sister, Charlotte Long Sands; brothers, Jess and Frankie Long; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Dandridge with Rev. Chad Chambers officiating. Interment graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
