Shirley Ann Sexton

SHIRLEY ANN SEXTON, age 64, of New Market, TN, formerly of Knox County, TN passed away at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2009 at her residence. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by her son, William Allen Sexton; parents, George and Minnie Snyder; brothers, Herman, Clifford and Carl Snyder; and sister, Helen Cate. Survived by husband, James Sexton; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Moose Solomon of New Market; daughter, Sherry Sexton of Strawberry Plains; son and daughter-in-law, James and Jennifer Sexton of New Market; son, Michael Sexton of New Market; nine grandchildren; brothers, Roy Snyder of Georgia, Junior (Dot) Snyder of Strawberry Plains, TN; sisters, Lorene (Bob)Petty of Strawberry Plains, Bonnie (Tom) Mayes of Strawberry Plains; several nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with Rev. Burl Covington officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 20, 2009 at Cate Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family would like to give a special thanks to UT Hospice and special nurse, Angela and Dr. Scott Stevens.
