Shirley Mae Ownby

SHIRLEY MAY OWNBY, age 75, of Gatlinburg, TN passed away Monday, July 6, 2009 at the home of her daughter, Verena Kenyon. Preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Scott Winn and Edna Thicke Winn; husband, Mayford Ownby; sister, Sharron Louise Varkalas. She was a retired employee of Ruby Tuesday's of Gatlinburg. Survived by daughters, Theresa Renee Parker of Pigeon Forge and Verena (Joseph) Kenyon on Dandridge; grandchildren, Jeffrey W. Cooter, Jennifer D. Galloway, Kevin W. Cooter, Guanetia L. Williams, Gretchen R. Williams, Eri W. Williams, Angela R. Geffers; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother, John Morgan (Eujania) Winn of Bellville, MI; sisters-in-law, Iva McCarter, Isabell (Doug) Fain, and Hazel (Jimmy) Johnson; special friends, Patsy Rogers, Carly Wyatt, Sandy Baptie, Faye and Dale McKinney and sister Kaye and Joyce from the Atrium. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shirley Ownby Memorial Fund, c/o Farrar Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1025, Dandridge, TN 37725. Memorial service will be held at 8;00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from the Farrar Dandridge Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service.
