Sara Stuart Jaynes

SARA STUART JAYNES, age 87, of Gastonia, NC, formerly of White Pine, TN passed away Friday, June 6, 2008. Born in Appalachia, VA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Blanche Corbett Stuart. Preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Roy T. Jaynes, Jr., who died serving his country in World War II; and brother, Doug Stuart. Sara was a member of Seahorns Chapel United Methodist Church and taught school for many years at Dandridge Elementary School before retiring after 35 years of service in education. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roy S. and Angelia Jaynes of Lincolnton, NC; sister-in-law, Donna Belle Stuart of White Pine, TN; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Friends of Hospice, 400 W. Main Street, Morristown, TN 37814, or to the Alzheimer's Foundation, P. O. Box 10088, Knoxville, TN 37939. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 from the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. John Thompson officiating. Interment graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Seahorn's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
