Sara V. Williams Hodges

Sara V. Williams Hodges, age 91, of New Market, TN passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Mrs. Hodges was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Jefferson City. She was a former employee of TVA and a retired administrative officer of Suntrust Bank of East Tennessee. After retirement she was associated with Child and Family Services in Morristown. She was a graduate of Rutledge High School, Knoxville Business College and the American Institute of Banking. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 54 years, Edward Hodges; parents, Uriah and Fannie Murph Williams; sister, Audrea Wilson. Survived by daughter, Ann Lacy (Cecil) Wray of Germantown, TN; son, Ed (Tanya) Hodges of Rutledge, TN; grandchildren, Carter Wray of Austin, TX, Daniel Wray of Germantown, TN, Mark Hodges of Williamsburg, VA and Madison and Meredith Hodges of Rutledge, TN; great grandchild, Lila Wray of Austin, TX; sister Frances Bennett of Bristol, TN; several nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends. Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Jefferson City with Rev. Doug Wilder officiating. Graveside interment service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, family and friends will meet at Farrar Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth Department First United Methodist Church, 2011 Branner Ave., Jefferson City, TN 37760.
