JONES, age 48, of Jefferson City, TN went home to be with Jesus at 9:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2005 at East TN Baptist Hospital following a brief illness. Member of First United Methodist Church. He was a prominent contractor and was very active in youth baseball and football programs, and was also an avid golfer and U.T. sports fan. Preceded in death by father, Philip Jones; grandfather, W. H. Lackey; grandmother, Hazel F. Jones. Survived by loving wife of 29 years, Vicky Jones; sons, Casey Jones and Buddy Jones, both of Jefferson City; mother, Jean Jones of Dandridge; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Doug Gray of Jefferson City; sister, Sherre DeVries of Dandridge; brother, Jack Jones of Dandridge; grandmothers, Virginia Gann of Morristown and Willie D. (Billie) Lackey of Jefferson City; aunt, Sue Bird of Dandridge; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bud and Betty Gann of Jefferson City; sisters-in-law, Tammy (Dan) Lee of Talbott, Pam (Tommy) Carlyle of Georgia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at the Farrar Jefferson City Chapel with President Mike Moffat officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dandridge for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening prior to the service at the funeral home.
