Samuel Ira Frazier passed away on Monday, November 11th, at The Gables on Pelham Assisted Living in Greenville, SC. He had recently moved there from White Pine, TN to be closer to his family, a testament to his deep love for them.

Born in Carthage, NC and raised near Henderson, NC, Sam was the son of Floyd Stephen Frazier and Josephine DeMent Frazier Blackley. Sam lived a full life excelling in sports in high school. He joined the U.S. Navy and served two-and-a-half years in the U.S. Navy Athletic Division, playing both basketball and baseball. After the Navy, he was a minor league pitcher for the Chicago Cubs farm team. He eventually sustained an injury to his pitching arm, forcing him to quit baseball altogether. From there Sam used his easy going, friendly personality to excel as a car salesman, then as a manager and eventually owning his own dealership. His love for sports shifted to golf, where he was an avid golfer. Sam lovingly raised his four children in Kansas, North Carolina and South Carolina, eventually retiring and settling down in White Pine, TN with his beloved wife, Ann.

Sam is survived by his son Lawrence Stephen Frazier (Becky) of Tryon, NC; Rebecca Frazier Kendall (Dart) of Acworth, GA; Michael Thomas Frazier (Angela) of Simpsonville, SC; Angela Lee Frazier of Tryon, NC; 4 grandchildren: Natalie McKinney (Jared), Alex Frazier (Jessica), Noah Frazier, Graham Frazier and 2 great grandchildren: Harper McKinney and Luke McKinney. He also leaves behind his sister, Jane Edwards of Henderson, NC, and two stepchildren he shared with Ann, Tim and Aleisha; as well as 6 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.

Sam is preceded in death by his wife, Jerry Ann Frazier and his sister, Frances Gorsuch.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 23rd at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine, TN. Visitation will begin at 1pm and the funeral service to follow at 2pm. Burial will follow at Seahorns Chapel Cemetery in Dandridge, TN.
