SAMUEL NEILL CATRON, JR., age 90, of New Market, TN, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 1, 2011, at his home. He was born in Hamblen County on March 25, 1921. He was a member of the Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by wife of 61 years Dorothy (Webb) Catron; parents, Samuel and Jesse (Harrison) Catron; sisters, Grace Catron, Edith Catron, Mary Will Porter, Isabell Cunningham, Aileen Catron, Nora Mae Trent, and Faye Catron; sons-in-law, Sandy Griggs and Ronnie ?Checker? Carmichael; and great-granddaughter, Emma Cody. He is survived by daughters, Carole (David) Turner of Talbott, Susan Griggs of Jefferson City, and Mary Neill Carmichael of White Pine; grandchildren, Carrie Turner, Jessica Turner, Daniel Griggs, and Jennifer Griggs; step-granddaughters, Amanda Carmichael and Kristin (Lukeus) Weems; great-granddaughters, Gracie Turner and Ramsey Weems; and very special caregivers, Pansy Wallace, Nancy Metler, Brenda Lovin, Hollie Vaughn, and Susan Porter; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM, Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Talbott Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Snowden and Rev. Richard Reid officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Family and friends will gather at 1:45 PM Sunday afternoon at Jarnigan Cemetery for a 2:00 PM graveside internment service. In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, Attn: Donor Services, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60601.
